Sr Principal Software Engineer

Salary: $73000 - 121000 per year Requirements: We bring 12+ years of experience in systems engineering, networking, or distributed systems. We have practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational reliability. We are expert in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, C/C++, or Rust. We have demonstrated experience influencing across functions and teams while delivering value at scale. We have hands-on experience with software-defined networking technologies such as OVN, OVS, or equivalent platforms. We possess expert-level knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and load balancing. We have experience with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability. We can apply deep expertise and new approaches to solve complex technical challenges across multiple disciplines. We have extensive practical cloud-native experience. We hold expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Preferred: We have experience with DPU/SmartNIC technologies such as NVIDIA BlueField, AMD Pensando, or Intel IPU. Preferred: We understand eBPF, XDP, DPDK, or other high-performance networking frameworks. Preferred: We have experience with CNI implementations such as Cilium, Calico, or Flannel, and with Kubernetes networking. Preferred: We understand BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, or other advanced routing protocols. Responsibilities: We advise and lead strategy and development across multiple products, applications, and technologies in the portfolio. We design and architect core components of JPMC-VPC, including the control plane, data plane, software gateways, load balancers, and IPAM systems. We create innovative code solutions and drive the delivery of new production capabilities across teams and functions. We write production-quality code in Go, Python, or C/C++ for networking infrastructure. We translate highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches for leadership to support informed strategic decisions. We collaborate with vendor partners such as Red Hat and NVIDIA on roadmap planning and integration. We represent us in open-source communities and industry forums. We drive adoption of technical methods aligned with the latest product development practices. We build durable, reusable software frameworks that can be leveraged across teams and functions.
