Senior Database Security Engineer

Salary: $193,606.4 - 193,606.4 per year Requirements: 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server engineer or database developer, including hands-on security engineering. Proficiency in Python and Linux shell scripting, with experience applying CI/CD practices. Expertise in AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server administration and security features. Strong knowledge of database security controls, including native auditing, encryption in transit and at rest, entitlement management, and password vaulting. Experience integrating REST APIs for automation and monitoring workflows. Hands-on experience administering Linux in production environments. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred: Experience with Guardium or comparable database activity monitoring platforms. Preferred: Experience using Ansible for configuration management at scale. Preferred: Familiarity with Azure database services and cross-cloud patterns. Preferred: Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and Jira and Horizon. Responsibilities: Engineer and automate database activity monitoring solutions for AWS RDS, Azure-hosted databases, and on-premises implementations. Develop Python, shell, and PowerShell scripts for CI/CD pipelines, integrations, and configuration management. Implement and maintain native audit logging, encryption in transit and at rest, entitlement reviews, and password vault integrations. Integrate and support Guardium or similar database activity monitoring tools for policy enforcement and reporting. Design REST API integrations for security workflows and observability. Work with security, database, and cloud platform teams to establish standards and remediate findings. Prepare documentation, runbooks, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and use Jira to track backlogs, sprints, and delivery.
