Director, Software Engineering

Salary: $56000 - 93000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a leader with formal software engineering training or certification and 10+ years of applied experience, including 5+ years leading technologists through complex technical challenges. We need deep expertise in Identity and Access Management, ideally with prior leadership responsibility. We value experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent, as well as leading cross-functional technology teams. We want experience driving adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams, including setting human-in-the-loop controls, quality gates, outcome measurement, and secure handling of sensitive data. We need a strong grasp of responsible AI usage and governance in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resiliency, security, and scalable reuse patterns. We require proven knowledge of IAM tools and protocols such as Ping, ForgeRock, or Okta. We look for a solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices. We want experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager. We expect practical cloud-native experience. We prefer a background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline. We consider hands-on coding experience an advantage. We also value experience in public cloud environments. A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent software engineering experience is preferred. Responsibilities: We lead Identity and Access Management initiatives and process implementations to meet our technology objectives. We make decisions that shape team resources, budgets, operational priorities, and the delivery of processes and procedures. We set direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation, improving speed, quality, and operational outcomes while maintaining validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse standards. We apply knowledge of software development lifecycle tools, including enterprise-approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value and unlock support capacity at scale. We hold governance responsibility for coding decisions, control obligations, and success measures such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations. We deliver technical solutions that can be reused across multiple businesses and domains. We influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology groups.
