Unified Comm Engineer

Salary: $137000 - 143000 per year Requirements: High school diploma plus 9 or more years of experience, or equivalent background At least 2 years of experience working with unified communications solutions Active TS/SCI clearance Current CompTIA Security+ certification Current CCNA certification Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco IP phones, Cisco Webex Desk/Room devices, and voice-enabled Jabber clients Excellent time management and organizational abilities Proven ability to coordinate with stakeholders and work effectively with team members Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, attention to detail, prioritization, decision-making, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills Preferred: current CCNP certification Responsibilities: Serve as the engineer for our enterprise unified communications platform Establish and maintain reliable operation of systems, servers, software, and hardware in networked or standalone environments Maintain system integrity, monitor performance, and apply tuning or upgrades as needed Develop and document new methods and standard operating procedures to support UC operations Coordinate with SMEs, support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve issues Carry out operations and maintenance activities for networks and servers Identify recurring issues and recommend actions to reduce their impact or frequency Plan and support transitions of development and production environments to newer technologies Understand our UC business processes, tools, operating model, customer needs, and business goals Translate business requirements into solution designs and implement, configure, and optimize UC solutions Automate business workflows on the platform Perform acceptance testing, transition activities, and knowledge transfer to customers and stakeholders Review test plans and procedures to ensure contractual requirements are met and participate in validation testing Submit formal security patch implementation requests in accordance with CCMP Provide over-the-shoulder mentoring on unified communications to government personnel Technologies: Cisco Hardware Support Network Security More: We are hiring an on-site Unified Communications Engineer in San Antonio, Texas to support the AF SCI network.
