Test Engineer - Torrance

Salary: $43,200 - 55,200 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline; a masters degree is considered an advantage. We need a strong grasp of test techniques, including test creation, development, and execution. We prefer hands-on experience with defense and aerospace test equipment and software such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and environmental chambers. We require familiarity with industry frameworks and regulatory standards, including MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, and AS9100. We value proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C/C++, along with exposure to test automation tools or frameworks. We need solid analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a high level of attention to detail. We expect excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. We need someone who can thrive in a fast-paced setting, balance multiple priorities, and consistently meet project timelines. Prior experience in the defense and aerospace sector is highly desirable. We value the ability to read schematics and blueprints and to write technical documentation, including ATPs. Responsibilities: We collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to interpret system requirements and technical specifications. We build detailed test plans and strategies to verify performance, reliability, compliance, and customer expectations. We identify key test scenarios, establish test goals, and define success criteria for validation activities. We design and author test procedures, protocols, and scripts for functional, integration, performance, and stress testing. We set up test environments, instrumentation, and equipment to capture accurate and meaningful data. We carry out testing, review outcomes, and document defects, irregularities, and performance concerns. We investigate failures and work with design and development teams to resolve issues and improve product quality. We prepare clear test reports that summarize procedures, findings, and recommended improvements. We maintain organized records of test plans, execution results, and supporting documentation for traceability and compliance. We look for opportunities to automate testing and develop scripts or frameworks that improve speed and consistency. We continuously refine our testing methods, tools, and workflows to expand coverage and strengthen reliability. We ensure all testing activities follow safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulatory expectations. We engage with internal partners, customers, and regulators as needed to address compliance matters and close gaps.
