Embedded Software Engineer (Avionics)

Salary: $100,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field, with 5+ years of experience. Experience developing embedded software with RISC-V and Ultrascale+ (Arm) processors or other low-power microcontrollers, such as PowerPC or TMS320. Experience with real-time operating systems, such as VxWorks, Integrity, embedded Linux, Zephyr, or FreeRTOS. Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly programming. Strong embedded-target development and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of operating-system coding techniques, interfaces, hardware subsystems, and driver development. Experience with device drivers, board support packages, boot code, and embedded-system buses and protocols, such as CAN, I2C, SPI, Serial, SpaceWire, and 1553. Knowledge of software configuration management and defect-tracking tools, as well as peer-review processes. Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment. Experience developing formal requirements, design and test documentation, and supporting formal reviews. Secret security clearance or higher. Availability to work from our Cambridge office and travel to our Lowell office upon request. Preferred: Experience with development tools such as GCC and LLVM, static and dynamic analysis tools, and QEMU-based development. Responsibilities: Develop embedded real-time avionics software and high-performance solutions for resource-constrained targets. Build next-generation resilient and fault-tolerant software for undersea, terrestrial, air, hypersonic, and space applications. Contribute throughout the software development life cycle, from design and requirements through testing and field deployment.
