Staff Software Engineer

Salary: $136000 - 239000 per year Requirements: We require an active Final Secret clearance before you start, and you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. We are looking for strong Java programming experience. We need knowledge of software practices and coding standards. We require experience working with Linux operating systems. We need strong troubleshooting ability, including reviewing performance issues, identifying root causes, and developing effective fixes. Security+ or an equivalent certification is preferred. An active TS clearance is preferred. Experience working on Agile teams is preferred. C2BMC experience is preferred. Familiarity with Java Spring is preferred. Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes is preferred. Knowledge of server-side development and message passing is preferred. Experience building enterprise applications is preferred. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is preferred. Flexibility and willingness to take on unexpected work is preferred. Experience with common development and collaboration tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and Eclipse is preferred. Experience with standard systems engineering artifacts such as use cases and UML diagrams is preferred. Responsibilities: We provide analysis and technical support for a large, distributed Java-based system. We solve complex issues across the full software lifecycle, including design, development, testing, integration, and user support. We work from detailed specifications to modify or extend functionality within a large codebase. We collaborate on system design, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation. We partner with other support teams to diagnose issues, define standards, and improve system performance. We design, code, test, and deploy automation tools that improve efficiency and reliability. We operate as a close-knit technical team within a larger organization, collaborating with software and systems engineers, architects, and project engineering specialists, and we also interface with key customers at the Missile Defense Agency. This is an onsite, full-time position with an estimated 10% travel to customer sites across the U.S. The schedule is a 4x10 arrangement with three days off per week.
