About the role

Salary: $234000 - 274000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree and at least 1 year of software engineering experience. We require experience developing C/C++ software for real-time or safety-critical systems. We require proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. We require hands-on experience with Git workflows, including branching, merging, pull requests, and using GitLab for source control, pipeline setup, and CI/CD automation. We require the ability to produce detailed specifications, design documentation, and test records. We require familiarity with version control best practices and continuous integration and continuous delivery processes. We require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance before starting. We require eligibility to obtain a Special Access Program security clearance within a reasonable period after start. We require the ability to work onsite at a facility with special access requirements. We prefer experience with aerodynamics, air-launched weapon systems, missile kinematics, and non-ideal physics. We prefer experience in Linux environments, especially SLES 11 or newer. We prefer experience with Kubernetes, Docker, gRPC, black box software integration, UML, SysML, and MBSE. We prefer familiarity with Agile Scrum and SAFe. We prefer demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex software architectures. Responsibilities: We plan, coordinate, and execute software development activities for the F35 Pilot Training Devices program as part of the Weapons Integrated Product Team. We design, develop, document, test, and debug software that addresses business and mission needs. We apply established standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the full development lifecycle. We translate high-level requirements into detailed software specifications and design documents. We design, code, and unit test C/C++ components for real-time and safety-critical applications. We develop and run unit, integration, and system verification test plans, then capture and report the outcomes. We participate across all SDLC phases, including requirements analysis, architecture and design, implementation, integration, verification, and production handoff. We identify and resolve software defects and create clear operating instructions and thorough development documentation. We analyze system capabilities to clarify program intent, output needs, input acquisition, programming methods, and control logic. We ensure software deliverables meet quality and compliance expectations.
