Software Engineer

Salary: $107000 - 152000 per year Requirements: We require 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree in a related discipline, 3 years with a masters degree, or 9 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent. We prefer a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Robotics Engineering. We expect 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, including architecture design. Responsibilities: We design, develop, implement, test, and debug autonomy software for unmanned maritime products. We create innovative solutions for complex autonomy challenges across our unmanned systems portfolio. We support software product delivery and customer-facing deliverables. We document software requirements, technical design, and implementation details. We enhance existing features and correct defects based on customer needs. We communicate findings, issues, and proposed solutions clearly to internal teams and external customers. We coordinate with systems, firmware, hardware, and other engineering groups to deliver high-quality software. We participate in all stages of product development, including requirements review, design, usability, risk assessment, and defect resolution. We follow established software development processes and best practices. We write software that meets standards and supports logical and mathematical problem solving. We collaborate with hardware engineers and equipment designers on system planning, development, and use. We analyze user needs, system capabilities, output requirements, input data, and programming approaches to resolve technical issues. We prepare operating instructions and contribute to compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems as needed.
