Optimization Team Lead

Salary: $94000 - 116000 per year Requirements: We require a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree in a related field, 3 years with a masters degree, 0 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus 9 years of relevant experience. We need strong logical reasoning and a solid grasp of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. We require proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, or C#. We need experience with at least one contemporary frontend framework, such as React, Vue, or Angular. We require knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build workflows, testing, and operations. We value excellent written and verbal communication skills. We need the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. We require strong organizational abilities and close attention to detail. We seek a self-motivated professional who can succeed with minimal direction. An active Secret Clearance is required. Preferred: experience designing or supporting distributed systems and large-scale architectures. Preferred: familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks. Preferred: experience using collaboration and tracking tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Git. Preferred: knowledge of application abstraction, container fundamentals, and orchestration platforms. Preferred: experience developing in Linux environments and working with relational as well as NoSQL or graph databases. Responsibilities: We design, build, and optimize large-scale software systems that support joint military training and simulation. We translate functional needs into resilient, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions. We participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including troubleshooting and production support in mission-critical environments. We mentor Associate Software Engineers and provide technical direction to peers. We quickly learn existing architectures, development practices, and operational settings. We contribute to architecture discussions and long-term system design decisions. We lead a team of engineers, deliver performance feedback, support career development, and ensure program requirements are met.
