Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $185000 - 236000 per year Requirements: We bring at least 7 years of progressive professional software engineering experience building enterprise-grade systems. We have strong proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Java or C#. We have experience designing and developing RESTful and event-driven microservices; Spring Boot and Apache Kafka experience is a plus. We have hands-on experience with cloud platforms and container technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker. We are skilled in CI/CD pipelines and test automation. We understand core computer science concepts such as algorithms, state machines, and programming paradigms. We are experienced with modern engineering practices such as Scrum, Extreme Programming, and Test-Driven Development. We have experience creating technical designs, system architectures, and production-ready software solutions. We can analyze complex production issues, troubleshoot effectively, and implement durable fixes. We communicate clearly and effectively with business partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams. Preferred: We have experience with Domain-Driven Design. Preferred: We have retail or ecommerce domain experience, especially in merchandising planning, inventory allocation, or inventory management. Preferred: We have worked with merchandising platforms such as Blue Yonder or Anaplan. Preferred: We have demonstrated technical leadership within a software engineering team. We hold a bachelors or masters degree in engineering, preferably Computer Science, or have equivalent experience. Responsibilities: We design effective technology solutions for complex business requirements. We partner with business and technology stakeholders to evaluate options and weigh tradeoffs. We recommend technical designs that align with enterprise standards and support long-term maintainability. We provide best-effort estimates and technical input to support project planning. We lead the creation and documentation of clear, complete technical designs. We lead complex application development and production support for merchandising technology solutions. We write application code, build automated tests, document designs, and troubleshoot systems and applications. We implement applications and modules using standard programming tools, patterns, and techniques. We coordinate development environment setup, release planning, and deployment readiness. We work with application support teams to ensure smooth releases for complex implementations with cross-team dependencies. We create system architectures, manage source code, and help maintain the technical stability of our software solutions. We support quality engineering efforts through unit testing and contributions to broader test case development. We analyze and troubleshoot complex defects, identify root causes, and deliver robust code fixes. We create and maintain system design documentation in line with engineering standards. We set a high standard for design quality, code quality, and continuous improvement. We define and assign tasks, coordinate team activities, and review deliverables. We communicate status clearly to stakeholders, escalate risks, and suggest practical solutions. We provide leadership that strengthens team practices and overall engineering capability. We identify opportunities to improve development practices, team processes, and delivery effectiveness. We collaborate closely with teammates and mentor less experienced developers. We offer a competitive salary range of $151,266 to $193,788 per year, depending on experience and background, and the role is not eligible for the company bonus program.
