Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Zero Trust)

Salary: $155000 - 174000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with 12+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience, or equivalent commensurate experience. We need 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, continuous monitoring, information assurance, or vulnerability management. We are looking for a strong command of Zero Trust Architecture, risk management, and continuous diagnostics. We require hands-on experience with Archer GRC, Tenable SC, ACAS, Nessus, endpoint security tools, and SIEM or monitoring platforms. We need demonstrated experience preparing ATO packages and working within NIST, ICD, and CNSS frameworks. We prefer experience in federal environments such as DHS, DoD, or the Intelligence Community. We need the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical leadership. We value prior experience developing dashboards and automated cyber metrics. We require strong networking fundamentals, including Cisco, VLANs, and firewalls. An active TS/SCI clearance is required. Preferred qualifications include DHS cybersecurity operations experience, AWS cloud experience with certification in progress or completed, experience designing or deploying Zero Trust controls, and a background in network operations or secure communications engineering. Responsibilities: We lead continuous monitoring operations across enterprise networks, systems, and user accounts using Archer GRC, Nessus, ACAS, and Tenable SC. We design and maintain automated cyber risk dashboards, heat maps, and risk registers to support leadership decisions. We engineer and implement Zero Trust-aligned security controls, endpoint protections, and automated monitoring capabilities. We perform vulnerability scanning, reporting, mitigation tracking, and POA&M management across multiple enclaves. We support Authorization to Operate activities while ensuring alignment with NIST 1000-53 ICD 503, and CNSS 1253. We conduct root-cause analysis on findings, develop remediation plans, and work with system owners to lower risk. We train and mentor cybersecurity analysts on new tools, dashboards, and best practices. We participate in Command Cyber Readiness Inspections and internal audits. We maintain accurate asset inventories and support enterprise configuration compliance. We collaborate with internal customers, contractor partners, and federal leadership on cybersecurity initiatives.
