Senior COBOL Developer & Technical Lead

Salary: $148,512 - 158,912 per year Requirements: 6+ years of experience with Visual COBOL and/or Micro Focus COBOL. Working knowledge of Visual COBOL V9. 10+ years of experience developing and maintaining complex, mission-critical applications in a Windows-based client-server environment. 5+ years of experience leading a technical software development team through software planning and deployment. 10+ years of experience coding and testing complex COBOL business systems using Oracle SQL in a Windows-based client-server environment. 5+ years of experience providing Level 3 production support. 5+ years of experience serving as the primary contact for business units, developing and reviewing business and technical specifications, and ensuring delivery of requested functionality. 10+ years of experience with system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation practices for new or modified systems. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, with 10 years of experience. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively. Experience mentoring and guiding less experienced technical colleagues. Ability to plan, define, lead, direct, instruct, and review project work and personnel. Preferred: Experience with Oracle 19+ SQL; familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET/C# development environments; and experience in public-sector or government settings. Responsibilities: Analyze the core business system and assigned development or modification tickets. Lead analysis of assigned tickets and projects, and propose solutions. Work with business units to develop business specifications, translate them into technical requirements, and obtain approval. Code, test, and promote solutions, coordinating with affected users to confirm they meet documented requirements. Provide Level 3 production support for the core business system. Provide daily and weekly status updates to the development manager and business analysts.
