Senior Application Developer

Salary: $132000 - 172000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. We look for 12+ years of experience on large, integrated projects. We require at least 5+ years of professional Java development experience, ideally in federal or defense contracting environments. We require an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain DEA suitability. We need strong hands-on knowledge of Java SE/EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services. We value familiarity with cross-domain solution architectures, data labeling, and secure data transfer methods. We prefer experience in secure environments, ideally within the DOJ, along with knowledge of FISMA, NIST, or RMF compliance frameworks. We expect proficiency with Maven or Gradle, Git, and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitLab CI. We value exposure to containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud or Azure Government. We look for a solid understanding of secure coding practices and experience with static and dynamic code analysis tools. We need strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of an Agile team. Responsibilities: We design, build, and enhance application software using languages such as Java, ColdFusion, JavaScript, and C#. We implement multiple design patterns to support maintainable and scalable solutions. We integrate commercial off-the-shelf products, APIs, data repositories, cross-domain solutions, and system interfaces. We maintain legacy code and develop new functionality using container-based technologies. We create and run unit tests to confirm code meets functional requirements. We identify and resolve integration issues, security vulnerabilities, and functional defects. We develop and support secure, scalable Java applications for cross-domain data exchange in line with federal standards. We partner with system architects, cybersecurity professionals, and government stakeholders to deliver mission-critical capabilities. We connect enterprise services and APIs while ensuring secure communication across multiple classification levels. We participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical reviews. We produce clear, well-documented code that aligns with federal security requirements and software development lifecycle practices. We help modernize legacy systems by refactoring them into cloud-native, containerized Java applications. We perform unit and integration testing and support automated deployments through CI/CD pipelines. We troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, staging, and production environments. We collaborate across functions to ensure interoperability, data integrity, and compliance with cross-domain solution policies.
