About the role
Lead agile product development for DoD cyber and big data initiatives, managing stakeholder requirements and technical roadmaps.
Salary: $137000 - 191000 per year Requirements: We require a current Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance or the ability to obtain one; U.S. citizenship is mandatory. We seek 9+ years of experience in DoD cyber, agile product development, and/or big data, paired with a bachelors degree in business, a technical discipline, or a related field; alternatively, a masters degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 13 years of relevant experience. We require 5+ years of experience serving as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Technical Program Manager in an Agile software development setting. We expect a solid grasp of modern data architecture concepts, including data lakes, data warehousing, and big data technologies. We require professional background in cybersecurity domains such as SOC operations, cyber threat intelligence, network defense, or incident response. We value proven experience working with DoD or other Federal Government clients, along with familiarity with their operational context and acquisition processes. We need outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences. We require strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively. We require a willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, including short-notice CONUS and OCONUS travel. We require the ability to work onsite in Columbia, MD 1–2 days per week and to adapt to changing schedules as needed. We prefer DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications if requested by the customer. We prefer hands-on experience with cloud-native data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS/Azure data services. We prefer experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect within the GovCon IT sector. We prefer a strong understanding of the data lifecycle in a typical cybersecurity environment. Responsibilities: We define, own, and communicate the product vision and roadmap to align customer mission needs with our strategic objectives. We build, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, including user stories, epics, and clear acceptance criteria. We serve as the main point of contact for DoD cyber stakeholders, conducting discovery to understand workflows, data pain points, and desired outcomes. We regularly engage with other Product Owners within our Customer Experience Group to gather insights and align customer feedback with future feature development. We translate mission-level needs into actionable technical requirements for engineering teams. We discuss data ingestion, query performance, analytics integrations, and API specifications with developers to shape the solution. We validate software updates against user stories, design documentation, and acceptance criteria to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met. We communicate the platforms capabilities and mission value to both operational users and senior military leaders. We partner with business development and marketing teams to refine product messaging, support proposals, and create compelling demonstrations. We define, track, and analyze product metrics to assess performance, adoption, and mission impact. We perform additional related duties as needed.
