Network Engineer

Salary: $109000 - 118000 per year Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent experience (minimum 9 years) Active TS/SCI clearance In-depth understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, and network security best practices Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto) Proficient in using network monitoring, diagnostic, and performance analysis tools Familiar with network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, and STP Experience with VPN technologies such as IPsec and SSL Ability to analyze network traffic and address latency, connectivity, and performance challenges Familiarity with hybrid environments and enterprise IT solutions DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND) Preferred: IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, MCSE, VCP, CCNP) Preferred: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field Preferred: Technical experience in DoD Networks (NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS) Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network environments Configure and manage routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANs Oversee firewalls, VPN solutions, and network security measures Monitor network performance and availability, and engage in proactive capacity planning and optimization Diagnose complex network issues and lead investigations into root causes Execute network upgrades, patches, and modifications Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams on cross-functional projects Keep precise documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and standards Assist in network automation, scripting, and orchestration initiatives as necessary Technologies: Aruba Cisco ITIL LAN Network Security TCP/IP VPN WLAN Support More: At GovCIO, we are currently seeking a Network Engineer to play a key role in our modernization efforts.
