ITS Software Test Engineer

Salary: $90000 - 113000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with 5 years of relevant experience, a masters degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience. We are looking for experience in systems engineering. We need working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments. We require hands-on experience with C++ and Java. We need experience developing and testing graphical user interfaces (GUI). We expect the ability to independently create and carry out task plans. We require the ability to obtain a DoD Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification or higher within 3 months of hire if not already held. We require U.S. citizenship. We require a current or active DoD Secret clearance. We prefer experience with military or training systems. We prefer working knowledge of ActiveMQ. We prefer IAT Level II certification or higher. We prefer experience using JIRA and Subversion. We need the ability to lift and transport equipment used for system setup and integration. We require the ability to work in shipboard environments during testing and installation activities. We require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods during laboratory testing. Responsibilities: We conduct software testing in laboratory and shipboard settings to confirm performance against system requirements. We integrate network operating systems, application software, and hardware into a cohesive training platform. We take part in requirements reviews, design conversations, and troubleshooting efforts. We support on-site installation and system verification activities, including limited travel as needed. We collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system readiness, reliability, and successful delivery. We contribute to additional assignments and team initiatives as needed to support program objectives.
