Data Center Chief Engineer

Salary: $96,300 - 96,300 per year Requirements: 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications 3+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., hospitals, military installations, public safety facilities) with a focus on industrial electrical and mechanical systems Proficient in reading and drafting procedures, technical documentation, and engineering schematics Ability to travel or commute to various data center locations as required Willingness to work at alternative sites temporarily during training periods or until assigned facilities are operational Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of escalation for all facility-related issues Oversee management and operation of routine and emergency services across critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, and cooling towers Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facilities within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Provide training and support to Engineering Operations Technicians and foster a positive team culture with the Facility Manager Develop and implement new standard procedures for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor partners Assist with the development of new facilities and participate in projects aimed at enhancing current facility efficiency Perform maintenance outside of normal business hours as necessary, including responding to emergency calls Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience Collaborate with IT managers and other leaders to coordinate projects and optimize safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency of plant operations Ensure adherence to safety protocols by both vendor and Amazon personnel Establish performance benchmarks for the building, conduct analyses, and produce operational and maintenance reports Utilize administrative tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily tasks Technologies: AWS Cloud Excel Support Web Architect Hardware LESS Network Security More: We are seeking to add a vital member to our Data Center Engineering Operations Team, which plays a crucial role in powering global cloud computing.
