About the role
Salary: $107000 - 179000 per year Requirements: 5+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation 4+ years of experience in general contractor and vendor management, including requests for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking tied to construction and project delivery Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline plus 5+ years of relevant controls experience, or 10+ years of relevant controls experience in place of a degree Preferred: masters degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or a related field Preferred: experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA systems, application-specific controllers, software, and networks Preferred: familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS Preferred: solid understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical drawings, and standard operating procedures Preferred: ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and complex situations Preferred: experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Responsibilities: We train and support internal customers and stakeholders through the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS systems We provide technical support to operations throughout the data center lifecycle We review quarterly maintenance results and action items for BMS and EPMS and drive them to resolution We develop project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and level-of-effort estimates for BMS and EPMS initiatives requested by customers and stakeholders We manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution for BMS and EPMS improvement projects in our data centers We support procurement activities, including RFQs, RFPs, responses to RFIs, vendor proposal reviews, and purchase order issuance We participate in our global on-call rotation to deliver immediate technical support for in-service data centers We attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and regularly report status to Controls and stakeholder management We support commissioning activities for Controls projects in our data centers We review, implement, troubleshoot, and refine control sequences of operation and provide feedback to the design team We develop and adjust controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces We manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations We oversee the financial management of BMS and EPMS service contracts We visit assigned in-operation data centers locally to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance with scope, design, sequences of operation, and applicable local codes Technologies: AWS Cloud Hardware Support MQTT Network Security Web More: We are AWS Infrastructure Services, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of our global cloud infrastructure.
