Salary: $211000 - 234000 per year Requirements: High School diploma with 10+ years of related experience Active clearance required (SCI) Previous experience as a Cyberspace Information Security Officer (CISO) within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Profound understanding of Information System Security Engineering principles according to NIST SP 1000-160 Ability to assess IT and Cybersecurity products for optimal selection based on functionality, policies, and user needs Experience in writing and reviewing governance in a Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community context Strong knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity Reference Architecture Familiarity with application, network, and cloud security, as well as identity access management in a government setting Military or government experience in operations and intelligence In-depth understanding of military operations and intelligence-gathering processes Familiarity with structures and policies of DoD and Intelligence Community Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Proficiency in process modeling and business intelligence tools like Power BI and Tableau Knowledge of standard intelligence analysis tools and methodologies Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills Responsibilities: Provide strategic oversight and technical direction on cybersecurity initiatives Simplify complex security concepts into actionable insights for various stakeholders Influence and define enterprise security policies, standards, and governance frameworks Offer extensive subject matter expertise in network security, cloud security, incident response, and vulnerability management Lead or support intricate security evaluations, architecture assessments, and system fortification efforts Assess and recommend security technologies and platforms Serve as a senior point of escalation for major cybersecurity incidents Assist in root-cause analysis, containment strategies, and long-term remediation plans Monitor threat trends and proactively identify organizational risks Support compliance efforts across various frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001 Conduct risk assessments and provide expert guidance on mitigation techniques Ensure alignment between security measures and organizational goals Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate security into system development processes Mentor junior security personnel and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives Represent the security division in interdepartmental working groups and external interactions Technologies: Business Intelligence Cloud Support Network Power BI Security Tableau DevOps More: At GovCIO, we are on the lookout for a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist in designing and implementing a Zero Trust Architecture for the Headquarters Air Force/A2 Intelligence Directorate.
