Web UI Software Engineer

Salary: $112000 - 274000 per year Requirements: We require a BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience. We need at least 3 years of experience building web-based user interfaces with TypeScript and React. We expect familiarity with modern development practices and tools such as Git, Jira, and Agile Scrum. We require experience working within the DevSecOps software development lifecycle. We look for a proven track record of contributing to large codebases in a collaborative team setting. We need strong critical thinking abilities along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance by your start date and ultimately qualify for a Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility to access classified information. Preferred: a MS or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related equivalent field. Preferred: 5 or more years of frontend web development experience using TypeScript and React. Preferred: backend development experience with Python. Preferred: experience writing frontend tests with Jest and/or Cypress. Preferred: experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Preferred: familiarity with the Material UI component library. Preferred: experience containerizing software with Docker and Podman. Preferred: demonstrated success working in a multidisciplinary team environment. Preferred: an active Top Secret clearance. Responsibilities: We develop web-based user interfaces for military planning tools, prototypes, and analysis systems. We work with backend engineers across project teams to integrate system capabilities. We support code quality through peer reviews, software testing, and documentation. We collaborate with Human System Engineers during feature design, implementation, and review as needed. We contribute to one or more large, evolving codebases using modern software engineering approaches. We apply our UI development expertise to help design, build, and validate tools used for air and missile defense mission planning.
