Team Lead, Software Development

Salary: $68,000 - 108,000 per year Requirements: Hands-on Python experience building production services, data pipelines, or AI- and agent-based tools. Experience leading or mentoring engineers as a technical lead, team lead, or in a similar capacity. Production experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, plus experience building or integrating AI-assisted or agentic development tools. Experience with relational and document databases such as PostgreSQL and DocumentDB, or comparable technologies. Ability to work across multiple programming languages, such as Python and Java or JavaScript, as platform needs require. Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with people-management responsibilities. Preferred: Experience designing agentic pipelines for migration, automation, or data workflows. Preferred: Experience with event streaming such as Kafka or MSK, and with data mesh or ETL architectures. Preferred: Formal people-management experience, including performance reviews, hiring, or career development. Preferred: Agile or Scrum leadership experience, such as serving as a Scrum Master or taking on equivalent responsibilities. Preferred: Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and ownership of CI/CD pipelines. Preferred: Exposure to Java or Spring Boot for collaboration on shared platform services. Responsibilities: Set and maintain technical direction for our primarily Python-based services, ensuring alignment with platform architecture. Lead architecture discussions and design reviews for services deployed with Docker and Kubernetes on AWS. Guide data-modeling decisions across relational and document databases, balancing delivery speed with governance and data quality. Promote the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development tools and workflows across the team. Own delivery timelines and quality for roadmap work, raising risks promptly with product and engineering leaders. Work with product managers to scope and estimate work and prioritize delivery. Coordinate cross-team dependencies with architecture, DevOps, and Java-based platform teams. Stay engaged with Python code, data pipelines, and agent frameworks to review important designs and resolve complex technical issues. Encourage a polyglot approach, helping the team work with Java, Spring, or other languages when platform needs call for it.
