Sr Lead Software Engineer - AWS, Terraform

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements: We expect formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of practical experience. We need experience designing and building software with AWS services, especially database products. We require background in cloud security, governance, and identity and access management. We look for hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. We need strong coding skills with modern scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code practices. We require expertise in Python and Terraform. We expect experience delivering and supporting large-scale AWS production infrastructure. We need advanced knowledge of AWS services for traditional compute, containerized, and serverless architectures. We require proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. We value demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools, with clear validation standards for correctness, performance, and security. We expect a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls. We prefer a background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field. We prefer at least one AWS certification, such as Solution Architect Professional, Developer, or Data Engineer. We prefer Terraform Certified Associate certification. We prefer expert-level experience with Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Confluence. We prefer experience leading technology projects. Responsibilities: We provide technical direction and guidance to business teams, contractors, and vendors. We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others. We shape decisions that affect product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes. We lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including approved AI-assisted development and automation tools, to increase the value of automation at scale. We serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus. We contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
