About the role

Salary: $135000 - 202000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline, plus 7+ years of relevant construction experience; alternatively, 11+ years of relevant construction experience in place of a degree. We require 6+ years of experience managing construction for large, complex projects with substantial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. We require 6+ years of experience managing general contractors and vendors, including RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, and tracking RFIs and submittals. We prefer a masters degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural). We prefer 10+ years of construction management experience on large-scale projects. We prefer 10+ years of project and vendor management experience. We prefer 5+ years of data center system-level architecture and electrical engineering experience. We prefer 5+ years of data center system-level architecture and mechanical engineering experience. We prefer experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure. Responsibilities: We own the project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for new construction and capital improvement work. We oversee construction project management and coordinate all construction-related activity. We partner with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams to deliver data centers that support our customers. We serve as the owners representative on construction sites and work directly with construction trades. We represent us across multiple data center and capital project sites from construction start through handoff to operations. We interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout stages. We develop project scope and prepare requests for proposals. We negotiate with contractors and assess bids and proposals with precision. We manage cost, schedule, and quality while directing contractors and vendors. We handle project documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, and overall scope and schedule control. We troubleshoot equipment issues and perform root-cause failure analysis with construction teams. We support commissioning, integrated systems testing, and related oversight. We assist with operations of installed facilities, including procedure reviews, best practices, and maintenance initiatives. We support capital request development. We analyze and report construction progress and financial performance. We track and share key construction metrics with team members and leadership. We contribute to initiatives that improve construction efficiency and strengthen data center resiliency. We provide constructability reviews for electrical and mechanical designs for new and existing data centers. This Data Center Construction Manager role is based in New Carlisle, Indiana, about 30 minutes from South Bend.
