Software Engineer iOS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements: We expect formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 3+ years of applied experience. We need experience in native mobile application development. We require strong proficiency in Swift, including modern concurrency patterns such as async/await and Combine. We look for solid hands-on experience with iOS frameworks, including UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation, Core Data, and Combine, along with object-oriented programming and design patterns such as MVC, MVVM, Coordinator, and SOLID. We expect demonstrated expertise in writing unit tests with XCTest and UI tests with XCUITest, with a strong commitment to test-driven development. We need experience with CI/CD tools and processes such as Bitrise, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, as well as Git source control management. We value experience with modularization, dependency injection, and building reusable iOS SDKs or frameworks. We expect practical experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or code generation tools, and an understanding of how to integrate AI into development workflows. We require hands-on use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation, with the ability to critically assess, validate, and refine AI-generated output for correctness, performance, and security. We look for understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resilience and security expectations. Preferred: experience working with design systems, including UI development and white-labeling. Preferred: appreciation for accessibility and knowledge of how to meet WCAG and Apple accessibility requirements. Preferred: practical cloud-native experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. Preferred: an active GitHub or Stack Overflow profile, or a published app portfolio demonstrating technical expertise. Responsibilities: We execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using creative thinking to solve complex technical problems. We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run in sync with the relevant systems. We implement thorough testing strategies, including unit tests, UI tests, and automated test suites, to ensure quality and reliability. We use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating results through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards. We apply Software Development Life Cycle toolchain knowledge, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation. We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met by the code we develop. We gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize reporting from large and varied data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems. We proactively identify hidden issues and data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
