Software Engineer

Salary: $102000 - 152000 per year Requirements: We are seeking hands-on software engineering experience delivering web-based applications. We need experience building web applications and APIs with Python and Flask. We require proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for web UI development. We look for experience with API design and integration, including validation, error handling, and request/response modeling. We value familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. We need experience deploying and supporting applications on Azure App Service. We expect working knowledge of cloud application configuration, environment separation, and runtime behavior. We look for practical experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices. We value the ability to work independently while also mentoring junior engineers and helping shape technical decisions. We need strong troubleshooting skills and a production-support mindset. We require a bachelors degree in computer science or at least 5 years of professional experience. Preferred: familiarity with Azure Synapse Pipelines and upstream data ingestion patterns. Preferred: understanding of data-driven platforms that support analytics or AI use cases. Preferred: experience in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services. Responsibilities: We develop, enhance, and support a Flask-based web application that brings multiple Python modules together into a secure, unified user experience. We build and maintain backend API endpoints that manage application traffic and business workflows. We maintain the web UI layer, keeping the code modular, maintainable, and well integrated with backend APIs. We design secure database access patterns for Azure PostgreSQL, using parameterized queries and safe SQL practices. We participate in design and requirements-gathering sessions to turn business needs into actionable UI/API user stories and technical tasks. We keep solution designs aligned with changing business requirements and security standards. We support containerized deployments across environments and maintain consistency through configuration and release management. We contribute to GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including build, test, security scanning, deployment, and gated promotions. We partner with DevOps and platform teams to support release readiness, environment promotion, and operational excellence. We triage, troubleshoot, and resolve UI, backend, and cloud-related production issues, delivering timely fixes and incremental improvements. We support operational readiness through logging, monitoring, smoke testing, and deployment validation. We own our work end to end, from development through testing, deployment, and support. We produce clear documentation for requirements, logic, and enhancements to support knowledge sharing and steady-state operations. We collaborate effectively with distributed teams across locations and time zones.
