About the role

Lead architecture, design, and development of software solutions with a focus on security and compliance.

Salary: $70000 - 98000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated school; a masters degree is preferred. We may accept eight years of progressive software development experience in place of a degree. We are looking for four to eight years of progressive experience in software development. We need expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages and development frameworks, including C++ and Java. We expect strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native design patterns. We value proven leadership experience mentoring technical teams and managing complex development efforts. We require advanced experience with containerization, orchestration, and service mesh technologies. We need hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. We expect a solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing approaches. We require expertise in application security, secure coding practices, and compliance frameworks. We value excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to different audiences. We require the ability to maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and SAP eligibility. We require U.S. citizenship for this contract. We require the ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and standing, walking, twisting, bending, and squatting for extended or periodic intervals. Responsibilities: We lead the architecture, design, and development of complex cloud-native applications and systems supporting DoD modernization efforts. We drive technical decisions for legacy application migration and modernization strategies. We mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide guidance on best practices and advanced techniques. We design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures using industry best practices. We lead code reviews and establish coding standards, development workflows, and quality assurance processes. We collaborate with system architects and technical leads to define system architecture and integration approaches. We implement advanced DevOps capabilities, including infrastructure as code, automated deployment pipelines, and monitoring solutions. We design and develop sophisticated microservices architectures, including service mesh implementation. We lead performance optimization efforts such as load testing and capacity planning for cloud applications. We coordinate with government stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure solutions support mission needs. We evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve efficiency and system performance. We lead incident response for production issues and put preventive measures in place. We design and apply comprehensive security controls across the full application development lifecycle. We participate in technical reviews, design sessions, and architectural decision-making meetings. We manage technical debt and legacy dependencies during migration initiatives. We develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design records, and operational procedures. We coordinate with cross-functional teams in security, operations, and quality assurance. We lead proof-of-concept efforts and technical feasibility assessments. We ensure compliance with DoD Directive 8140 and applicable cybersecurity frameworks. We interface with the customer and external stakeholders in working groups, technical exchanges, and related forums. We chair or co-chair meetings and working groups on behalf of government representatives as directed. We resolve technical issues, allocate resources, and monitor development team performance to meet contract requirements. We provide daily technical leadership and guidance to the development team. We provide planned replacement information at least 15 calendar days before replacement and unplanned replacement information within 24 hours. We perform other duties as assigned.
