About the role
Provide senior-level administration for Linux enterprise systems, focusing on Red Hat and Kubernetes environments.
Salary: $78000 - 110000 per year Requirements: We require a current Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification to be considered. We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. We require 7+ years of system administration experience with a strong concentration in Linux environments. We require senior-level administration experience in Linux enterprise systems. We require hands-on experience with Red Hat and Kubernetes. We require knowledge of container platform security, RBAC, and compliance implementation. We require scripting and automation experience using Ansible, Bash, and Python. We require virtualization and enterprise infrastructure support experience. We require experience supporting mission-critical or classified systems. We require strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities. We require the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives. We require CompTIA Security+ and one of the following certifications: RHCE or RHCA. We prefer experience in DoD, classified, or SAP environments. We prefer DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline integration experience. We prefer LPIC-2 and LPIC-3 certifications. We prefer Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) certification. We prefer Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification. We prefer GIAC Certified UNIX Security Administrator (GCUX) certification. We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. We require U.S. citizenship for Secret clearance eligibility. We require the ability to work in data centers, secure facilities, and operational environments. We require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. We require the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. We require the ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically. Responsibilities: We install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux operating systems across physical, virtual, and containerized platforms. We deploy, configure, administer, and sustain Red Hat OpenShift clusters, including control plane and worker nodes, storage integration, networking, and upgrades. We support containerized workloads with Kubernetes and OpenShift, including image lifecycle management, registry integration, RBAC, and namespace administration. We perform system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation aligned with DoD STIGs, RMF, and cybersecurity requirements. We support and maintain virtualized and hyper-converged VMware ESXi infrastructure hosting Linux and OpenShift environments. We build and maintain automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Ansible, Bash, Python, and CI/CD integrations. We monitor system, cluster, and application performance and troubleshoot complex Linux, Kubernetes, and OpenShift issues across development, test, and production environments. We implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions for Linux systems and OpenShift clusters. We support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems, container platforms, and persistent storage. We collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, DevSecOps, SOC/NOC, and application teams to maintain secure, resilient, and compliant operations. We develop and maintain technical documentation such as build guides, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines. We participate in security assessments, audits, inspections, and Authority to Operate activities. We mentor and provide technical leadership to junior Linux and container platform administrators. We deliver technical briefings and system status updates to program leadership and government stakeholders as needed. We report to the Program Manager or IT Lead. We perform other duties as assigned.
