Software & System Test Engineer

Salary: $105,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements: We require a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. We are looking for 0-2 years of relevant experience. We need working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink graphical modeling. We require working knowledge of embedded control systems, real-time simulators, and related software, with acceptable platforms including dSPACE, National Instruments, Vector, and/or OEM proprietary tools. We require working knowledge of electrical and signal measurement tools and software. We prefer working knowledge of vehicle systems and networks. Python and MATLAB programming skills are preferred. We require working knowledge of system modeling using CAE and analysis. We require strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving ability. We need the ability to work effectively with team members and cross-functional peers. We require sound decision-making skills for mildly complex matters. We need the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision. We require effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. We need strong time management skills. We need the ability to clarify and confirm understanding with team leaders and staff. Responsibilities: We execute software validation test plans to ensure full coverage of test requirements by each project milestone. We support the full design of a HIL simulator, including hardware selection, plant model specification and programming, I/O channel selection, and simulator/controller harness design. We prepare test automation scripts to satisfy testing needs from the system function team. We accurately report test results and conditions so correct system decisions can be made. We document test execution, outcomes, issues, resolutions, and investigation findings in an established database. We support senior engineers in the design, procurement, and deployment of new HILS systems from suppliers. We collect, implement, and maintain prototype control software and physical system models from related function groups. This HILS Application Engineer role supports the design, assembly, validation, and test deployment of Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation systems for vehicle embedded software development.
