Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $100000 - 142000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline. We look for at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent blend of work experience. We need proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or C++. We expect a strong grasp of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment. We value strong analytical thinking and the ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments. Preferred qualifications include experience with tools such as Git, Visual Studio, or Eclipse. Preferred qualifications also include familiarity with Agile methods and practices. Experience with DoD software standards, cybersecurity principles, or secure coding practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud platforms or containerization tools such as AWS or Docker is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders are preferred. Responsibilities: We design, develop, and maintain moderately complex software applications using technologies such as Python, Java, or C++. We implement solutions that align with DoD standards, security requirements, and mission-critical needs. We improve software performance and scalability through advanced technical problem-solving. We create and execute test plans to verify software functionality and performance. We identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure operational readiness. We perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality and consistency. We lead small teams on low-complexity project work by offering technical direction and support. We collaborate with program and project managers to deliver technical solutions successfully. We own assigned tasks and deliver them on time while meeting project expectations. We work closely with systems engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and project managers to define and refine requirements. We communicate technical progress to internal and external stakeholders and keep project objectives aligned. We produce and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, workflows, and test plans. We prepare technical reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders. We build and manage data and software solutions that provide insight into program performance and support data-driven decisions.
