About the role
Develop and maintain software for embedded processors in a collaborative environment, focusing on system integrity and troubleshooting.
Salary: $146000 - 277000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 10 years of experience. We need experience developing and maintaining software on embedded processors or microcontrollers within an Agile and DevSecOps environment. We require the ability to collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and other disciplines to troubleshoot system- and board-level issues using software tools. We need experience working in a Linux environment, including the ability to modify and maintain Linux kernel root file systems. We require experience building multithreaded applications. We need strong experience maintaining a codebase built with CMake and Google Test. We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, and U.S. citizenship is required. We value proficiency with RTOS systems, Linux device drivers, and/or embedded Linux. We value experience developing and debugging on embedded targets. We value experience designing, implementing, testing, or deploying real-time embedded software solutions. We value a willingness to learn new techniques and apply critical thinking to diagnose customer issues. We value knowledge of modern computer architectures and hardware technologies, including x86 and ARM. We value familiarity with FPGAs. We value working knowledge of Linux kernel development and device drivers. We value experience with bare-metal software development. We value experience using version control systems such as Git or Subversion. Responsibilities: We design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded software and firmware solutions with a focus on system integrity. We apply Agile development practices on embedded targets to continuously deliver critical capabilities. We work with Systems Engineering to create design concepts and system architectural documentation. We help decompose architectural documentation into software development requirements. We participate in technical integration meetings with subcontractors to verify that selected hardware satisfies hardware and software needs. We independently or collaboratively develop hardened software applications using embedded engineering principles. We build software in C and C++ across Linux and other real-time operating systems. We ensure alignment across teams and remove blockers as they arise.
