Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Salary: $139000 - 264000 per year Requirements: Requires a degree in a STEM field and at least 10 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in at least one system-level or subsystem-level technical area, such as: - Guidance, Navigation, and Control - Orbital Mechanics - Mission Planning - Mission Analysis / Performance Analysis - Satellite Technology - Multidisciplinary design and System-of-Systems design Experience with programming languages including Python, MATLAB, and/or C++, along with familiarity in both Windows and Linux environments. Demonstrated skills in system performance, CONOPS, algorithms, signal processing, or modeling and simulation (6-DOF). Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is mandatory before starting, with the ability to obtain special program access thereafter. U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Responsibilities: Collaborate with a team of engineers and analysts to achieve team goals. Engage in vehicle design, system sizing, mission performance evaluation, and trajectory optimization. Analyze theoretical missions and hardware for feasibility, working with engineers to enhance models and assess performance drivers. Develop shared tools for mission analysis, performance evaluation, and mission planning across various projects. Leverage grid computing systems to support the generation and assessment of large data sets. Create visual representations of complex systems and mission concepts using STK or similar software. Coordinate with product line management and clients. Partner closely with program and advanced technology leadership to formulate concepts and enhance technologies for business development initiatives, including pursuing IRAD funding and authoring intellectual property disclosures. Actively participate in mission planning application software development and testing.
