Senior Platform Engineer

Salary: $82000 - 155000 per year Requirements: We typically require a bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, unless local laws or regulations prohibit this requirement. We require experience in Linux platform engineering and administration. We require hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or KVM. We require scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, and PowerShell. We require experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD, along with secure build and deployment patterns. We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance after the start date. We require U.S. citizenship, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. We prefer experience with radar, command and control, or large-scale real-time defense systems. We prefer practical experience applying DevSecOps tooling in secure or classified environments. We prefer experience supporting high-availability systems, distributed architectures, or high-performance computing environments. We prefer experience designing solutions across multiple programs at the same time. We prefer strong communication skills. We prefer familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence. We prefer experience in mission-critical platform or DevSecOps environments for distributed or real-time systems. Responsibilities: We implement platform architecture and modernization strategies for C5I mission systems, including automation, container orchestration, and secure platform design. We build resilient, scalable, and secure platform environments using Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, and related technologies. We support end-to-end DevSecOps workflows that enable frequent, high-quality deployments across MDS programs. We develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD to deliver secure, automated build, test, and release processes at scale. We collaborate across Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform, and Integration & Test teams to support cross-program integration. We troubleshoot issues and optimize performance in distributed and containerized environments. We mentor and guide Platform Engineers, offering technical direction and encouraging a collaborative learning culture. We contribute leadership in Agile Scrum and Kanban environments, including planning, estimation, and execution support.
