Senior Java Developer

Salary: $108000 - 162000 per year Requirements: We require a 4-year college degree or equivalent relevant experience, along with strong Java programming skills and production support experience, preferably in insurance or finance. We require 6+ years of application development experience with Java and related tools, including JDK, Oracle, JBoss, Apache Web Server, Spring, JSON, and APIs. We look for 3+ years of experience coordinating deliveries from junior developers, engaging stakeholders, and helping prioritize and sequence deliverables. We need strong analytical ability and a detail-focused mindset to understand complex business logic, assess system and data impacts, and determine required changes. We value experience working in cross-functional teams on complex systems, with solid problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach. We expect strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders while managing competing deadlines and priorities. Responsibilities: We act as the Intent Manager for the QUEST Kanban team, planning and prioritizing incoming work requests from other Scrum teams and business partners. We analyze changes needed in QUEST to support the business solutions required by Scrum teams. We design, code, document, and test solutions that align with our technical architecture, meet acceptance criteria, and minimize unintended impact and risk. We follow the software development lifecycle, support changes through testing, and assist with test planning. We support defect resolution, technical system activities, and overall system health. We follow our change control process to implement solutions. We handle administrative responsibilities tied to the role, including meetings, Agile ceremonies, timely correspondence, status updates, ticket review and submission, and participation in change management activities.
