Senior IT Applications Engineer, Java

Salary: $109000 - 152000 per year Requirements: We require at least five years of experience working on projects that implement solutions using development life cycles such as SDLC. We require at least two years of experience in a technical leadership role, with or without direct reports. We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related discipline, plus at least eight years of experience in software development or a closely related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for the degree. Responsibilities: We translate business requirements and functional specifications into software designs, code modules, and stable application systems. We provide technical direction and serve as subject matter experts for project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle. We design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, cloud-based, multi-channel solutions using DevOps, Waterfall, and Agile practices. We recommend and help shape technical solutions that satisfy design and functional needs. We collaborate with business analysts, architects, consultants, vendors, and internal teams to convert needs into scalable, maintainable solution designs. We oversee business-specific initiatives by planning work, coordinating resources, managing priorities, and driving deadlines to completion. We troubleshoot complex and non-complex system issues, lead incident support, and provide escalation support for unresolved translation or implementation problems. We support implementation and post-implementation activities by configuring or enhancing systems, reviewing technical documentation, and validating specifications. We contribute to component integration testing and user acceptance testing by triaging defects, performing fixes, running unit tests, and improving test coverage. We develop, validate, and execute complex test scenarios to confirm software quality and functional alignment. We participate across the full software development lifecycle in line with our methodology, standards, policies, and controls. We mentor, train, and guide other technical team members while fostering continuous learning and improvement.
