Senior Data Scientist – R&D & Algorithmic Development

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of advanced algorithms, geospatial intelligence solutions, and data-driven tools that enhance the performance and reliability of subsea fiber optic infrastructure. This role combines machine learning, geospatial analytics, data engineering, and software development to support research, operational decision-making, and workflow automation. Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy advanced algorithms and data pipelines using machine learning and statistical techniques Improve the performance, reliability, and monitoring capabilities of subsea fiber optic infrastructure through data-driven solutions Perform advanced geospatial analyses to map, monitor, and optimize subsea cable routes Create impactful visualizations and communicate actionable insights to technical and business stakeholders Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models in production environments Build internal tools, including web applications, REST APIs, CLI utilities, and automation scripts Architect scalable data pipelines and manage large, complex datasets for analytics and model development Apply LLMs to automate complex workflows and extract insights from structured and unstructured data sources Collaborate across R&D, engineering, and business teams to translate technical findings into practical solutions Qualifications Strong experience in Python and the data science ecosystem, including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and/or TensorFlow Hands-on experience with geospatial tools and platforms such as GeoPandas, Google Earth Engine, and QGIS Proven experience building and deploying machine learning models in production Experience developing web applications and APIs using Streamlit, FastAPI, Flask , or similar frameworks Strong background in data engineering and large-scale dataset management Experience applying LLMs for automation, analysis, or workflow optimization Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional R&D environment
