Senior Data Engineer

Salary: $113000 - 243000 per year Requirements: We seek at least three years of recent experience as a cloud data lake or warehouse architect, designer, developer, data scientist, or AI/ML engineer; Databricks certification is preferred. We require a bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. We look for experience leading cloud modernization and data migration initiatives, with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, and preferably facilitating technical workshops with business and technical stakeholders. We value hands-on knowledge of data security, messaging patterns, ELT, data wrangling, and cloud computing, along with proficiency in data integration/EAI, database technologies, analytics tools, programming languages, or visualization platforms. We expect experience designing solutions on cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus practical expertise with SQL and Apache Spark. We need strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across levels of responsibility and influence. We prefer candidates who can prioritize work, delegate appropriately, and help develop high-performing teams in a customer-focused, collaborative environment. We want highly analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated professionals who learn quickly and can build expertise in technical areas supporting Databricks-based solution delivery. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and be able to travel as needed. Responsibilities: We assist with technical design and development, and lead a small implementation workstream for large-scale Databricks data solutions supporting delta lake, reporting and analytics, and AI/ML use cases. We support the design and development of technology and data architectures for client solutions, applying best practices for cloud data warehouse migrations. We capture and translate business and technical needs, apply hypothesis-driven consulting, and contribute to project management and client relationship development. We turn complex business, data integration, and analytics challenges into technical approaches that produce actionable recommendations across varied domains. We communicate findings clearly and help educate stakeholders through the design and build of insightful visualizations, reports, and presentations. We demonstrate strong knowledge of the Databricks ecosystem and articulate the value of cloud modernization and transformation to a broad range of stakeholders.
