Senior Cybersecurity Data Engineer

Salary: $104,000 - 114,400 per year Requirements: 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity. 5+ years of experience with Cribl, Vector, Datadog, or other data pipeline platforms. 5+ years of experience with JavaScript, Python, or other scripting languages. Responsibilities: Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, reusable data-flow pipelines for security telemetry using Cribl, Vector, and other open-source platforms. Develop platform-agnostic ingestion frameworks and templates for varied data inputs and downstream destinations. Establish and implement schema normalization using OCSF, including field mapping, transformation templates, and schema validation. Build custom data transformations and enrichments with scripting languages, applying security controls such as SSL/TLS, client authentication, input validation, and logging. Maintain end-to-end data traceability and lineage through metadata tagging, correlation IDs, and change tracking. Work with observability and platform teams to integrate pipeline health monitoring, failure logging, and anomaly detection. Oversee and validate data integrations to minimize data loss, duplication, and transformation drift. Lead technical sessions to assess and recommend technologies and practices for managing security telemetry at scale. Implement filtering, enrichment, dynamic routing, and format conversion for data from more than 100 sources. Maintain centralized documentation covering ingestion patterns, transformation libraries, naming standards, schemas, governance procedures, and platform integrations. Coordinate with security, analytics, and platform teams to align pipeline logic with threat detection, compliance, and analytics needs.
