About the role
Develop and manage cloud applications with a focus on security and compliance frameworks.
Salary: $107000 - 150000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution; a masters degree is preferred. We may accept 10 years of progressive software development experience with substantial cloud application expertise in place of a degree. We require at least 8 years of progressive software development experience with significant cloud application exposure. We need expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages and development frameworks, including C++ and Java. We expect extensive experience with cloud platforms and advanced services across compute, storage, networking, and security. We look for deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native design patterns. We require proven leadership experience mentoring technical teams and managing complex development initiatives. We expect advanced knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and service mesh technologies. We require hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates. We need strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing approaches. We require expertise in application security, secure coding, and compliance frameworks. We expect excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences. We require an IAT Level III certification, such as CISSP, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCIH, GCFA, or CSSLP. We require the ability to maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and SAP eligibility. We require U.S. citizenship for this contract. We require the ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and standing, walking, twisting, bending, and squatting for extended or periodic intervals. Responsibilities: We lead the architecture, design, and development of complex cloud-native applications and systems supporting DoD modernization efforts. We guide technical decisions for migrating legacy applications and selecting modernization strategies. We mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide hands-on technical direction on best practices and advanced methods. We design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures aligned with industry standards. We conduct code reviews and define coding standards, development workflows, and quality assurance practices. We partner with system architects and technical leads to shape system architecture and integration approaches. We implement advanced DevOps capabilities, including infrastructure as code, automated deployment pipelines, and monitoring solutions. We build complex microservices architectures and support proper service mesh implementation. We drive performance optimization for cloud applications through load testing and capacity planning. We coordinate with government stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions support mission needs. We evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve development efficiency and system performance. We lead incident response for production issues and establish preventive measures. We design and implement security controls throughout the software development lifecycle. We participate in technical reviews, design sessions, and architecture decision forums. We manage technical debt and legacy dependencies during migration work. We produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design artifacts, and operational procedures. We collaborate with security, operations, and quality assurance teams across the program. We lead proof-of-concept efforts and technical feasibility assessments. We ensure compliance with DoD Directive 8140 and applicable cybersecurity frameworks. We represent the customer in working groups, technical exchanges, and other stakeholder forums as directed. We chair or co-chair meetings and working groups on behalf of government representatives when required. We resolve technical issues, allocate resources, and monitor team performance to meet contract expectations. We provide daily technical leadership and direction to the development team. We deliver replacement information within required timeframes for planned or unplanned personnel changes. We perform other duties as assigned.
