Remote Senior SQL Business Analyst

Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year Requirements: We prefer a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or another quantitative or technical field. We require 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering support, business intelligence, or a similar technical data function, including senior-level experience. We need strong SQL expertise for querying, analyzing, and validating data in relational database environments. We look for experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, or similar database and data warehouse platforms. We require experience with data quality, validation, metadata, lineage, master data, and data governance practices. We need experience documenting technical requirements, data structures, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. We expect familiarity with Agile/SDLC environments and tools such as Jira or Confluence. We require knowledge of ETL/ELT workflows, data pipelines, integrations, data mapping, and transformation logic. We value familiarity with BI and reporting tools, including validating dashboards and KPIs. We need strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently across technical and business teams. We require the ability to analyze multiple source systems and troubleshoot complex data issues through root cause analysis. Responsibilities: We analyze complex datasets across enterprise applications, databases, and cloud-based data platforms. We partner with business and technology teams to convert needs into scalable data and analytics solutions. We use SQL to query, validate, reconcile, and troubleshoot data across multiple source systems. We define data mappings, transformation logic, validation rules, metadata, lineage, and technical requirements. We support ETL and data pipeline initiatives, including the movement of structured and unstructured data into enterprise data environments. We monitor data quality, investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend technical improvements. We maintain data definitions, master and reference data, and documentation that supports enterprise data architecture. We validate dashboards, reports, KPIs, and analytical outputs for accuracy and consistency. We identify opportunities to automate data processes and improve scalability, reliability, and performance. We collaborate with data engineers, architects, analysts, product teams, and senior stakeholders on data initiatives.
