Quality Assurance Tester

Salary: $61000 - 97000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. We expect at least 3 years of experience in QA or software testing, including hands-on test execution. You should have experience designing, running, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test scripts. You need a solid grasp of software testing fundamentals and QA best practices. You must be able to validate requirements and confirm alignment with business expectations. You should be proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Visio. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills are essential. You need effective communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. You must be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality are required. Problem-solving ability, critical thinking, collaboration, teamwork, and a continuous learning mindset are important. Preferred experience includes retail, convenience store, fueling, and restaurant POS environments such as NCR StorePoint/Retalix, NCR Aloha, or Verifone Commander/C18. We value knowledge of payment processing technologies such as credit cards, gift cards, EMV, and P2PE. Experience in retail, convenience store, or fuel industry settings is a plus. Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence, or similar tracking tools, is preferred. Test automation or scripting experience, such as PowerShell, is desirable. Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, system integrations, and PCI/PII data security standards is beneficial. Responsibilities: We partner with QA, engineering, and business teams to test enhancements and changes to POS systems. We develop, implement, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts throughout the software development lifecycle. We perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing for POS solutions and transaction flows. We review QA releases before production deployment to confirm accuracy, stability, and compliance. We validate business and functional requirements to ensure they are testable and properly covered. We help secure team approvals by verifying test results and obtaining sign-off before releases. We identify, document, track, and help resolve defects with internal teams and external vendors. We plan and execute vendor and host testing, including integration and certification activities. We maintain detailed testing records, reporting, and evidence to support audits and compliance. We manage test card inventory, including provisioning, tracking, reconciliation, and compliance alignment. We analyze test data and results to generate insights and recommendations for improvement. We support deployment activities and help improve release speed. We provide training, documentation, and subject matter expertise to end users and collaborators. We identify and reduce project risks through proactive analysis and close collaboration. We ensure adherence to security, privacy, and compliance requirements, including PCI and PII. We help maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
