Principal Software Engineer, Medication Management

Salary: $210,000 - 250,000 per year Requirements: 12+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong product development background Proven experience leading full-stack development teams, including technical mentoring and design oversight Proficiency in React, modern frontend architecture, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java Experience with generative AI and AI-assisted software engineering tools Strong experience with relational databases and data modeling Experience with system architectures and distributed systems, including monoliths and microservices GraphQL experience is highly desired Strong communication, ownership, and accountability Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software in an agile, cross-functional team Create clear technical designs aligned with architectural standards and business objectives Recommend scalable, maintainable solutions and provide reliable development estimates Write clean, tested, performant code in line with established standards and best practices Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback Build expertise in medication management and serve as a technical subject matter expert Own deliverables and coordinate cross-team efforts to ensure successful execution Use AI-assisted tools to improve engineering throughput, effectiveness, and quality, and encourage sound practices Identify opportunities to use generative AI to improve customer solutions Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and promote continuous learning and improvement Explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, and contribute to software development practices and standards Participate in cross-team initiatives to improve product quality and performance Technologies: AI CSS Frontend GraphQL Support Java JavaScript React microservices Spark Web More: We are collaborating with hackajob to connect exceptional professionals with athenahealth.
