About the role
Design and maintain embedded software components for propulsion plant applications in mission-critical systems.
Salary: $140000 - 219000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, or science discipline plus at least 9 years of relevant experience; or a masters degree plus at least 7 years of relevant experience; or a doctorate plus at least 3 years of relevant experience; or current employment as a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer with our organization. We look for a strong programming foundation and hands-on experience with an object-oriented language, with C++ being preferred. We expect a solid understanding of embedded software design and its application in complex systems. We value familiarity with modern software development practices, including Agile Scrum, CI/CD build pipelines, and software verification/testing. We require proven troubleshooting and debugging capability in software environments. We need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. A bachelors degree or higher in computer engineering is preferred. Responsibilities: We design, develop, and maintain a portfolio of embedded and internal software components used in propulsion plant applications. We work closely with a high-performing software team to support software solutions across multiple technical areas. We apply embedded software concepts to create reliable tools and components for operational use. We contribute to modern development workflows, including Agile-based delivery, automated build pipelines, and testing activities. We diagnose, investigate, and resolve software defects and technical issues. We collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to deliver dependable software solutions that support mission-critical systems.
