Principal Applications Engineer, AEM Platform

Salary: $116000 - 162000 per year Requirements: We need at least 6 years of experience working on projects that implement solutions using development life cycles such as SDLC. We need at least 4 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with or without direct reports. We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related discipline, plus at least 10 years of experience in software development or a related field; equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree. Responsibilities: We lead multiple workstreams by assessing customer and operational needs, shaping procedures and policies, securing cross-functional alignment, converting business strategy into actionable requirements, allocating resources, setting standards, tracking progress, removing blockers, and resolving highly complex issues. We translate business needs and functional specifications into program designs, code modules, stable applications, and software solutions. We collaborate across technical teams to ensure specifications are converted into robust, maintainable solution designs. We build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and senior leaders to secure alignment and support for project objectives. We oversee review and implementation of technical solution recommendations across multiple functions. We ensure interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures, and functions align with architectural intent and support the overall technical solution. We define data management strategy within our information architecture, support secure information services, and plan effective storage, sharing, and publishing of information. We set strategies for database technology and provide specialist expertise in database management systems, tools, architectures, and facilities. We support project teams throughout the release cycle of business and enterprise software solutions. We guide teams in responding to complex incidents and provide escalation support when issues arise. We partner with IT teams and vendors to ensure code follows our architectural standards, design patterns, and technical specifications. We maintain and expand our technical expertise by engaging with industry trends, conferences, and expert networks. We lead consultations to ensure new and existing solutions reflect industry best practices, strategies, and architectures. We provide expert advice on software engineering topics, including market trends, programs, and applications. We review and validate estimates for complex technical design, coding, and testing work. We identify required interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures, and functions to support technical solutions and resolve complex requirements translation issues. We use DevOps, Waterfall, and Agile practices to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume, cloud-based solutions. In this role, we provide architectural leadership and advisory support across cloud, CMS, digital marketing, content supply chain, workflow automation, digital asset management, and integration ecosystems. We emphasize platform reliability, continuous improvement, incident management, root cause analysis, standards lifecycle management, governance, reference architectures, and secure CDN and NGINX operations.
