Lead Software Engineer

Salary: $105000 - 145000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in IT, MIS, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. We look for 7+ years of hands-on Java experience and enterprise application development expertise. We require 7+ years of experience designing and delivering AWS-based solutions, including Lambda, Step Functions, and Spring Boot microservices. We need 5+ years of experience with application performance monitoring and observability tools for monitoring, alerting, and tuning. We require proven experience building and supporting external APIs and other integration methods such as SFTP using AWS-native services and technologies. We value demonstrated use of AI-assisted tools to speed up technical research, troubleshooting, and solution design. Preferred: experience in the financial services or insurance industry. Preferred: working knowledge of MISMO standards and schemas, including XML and JSON message formats. Preferred: experience with Python for scripting, data processing, automation, or developing microservices and serverless functions. Responsibilities: We lead medium, large, and portfolio-level projects tied to external customer and vendor integrations, as well as internal utility applications. We design integration services for both cloud and on-premises environments. We partner with internal and external customers to understand integration and interface requirements. We work with outside vendors to define technical expectations and standards for externally developed products. We collaborate with the business product owner to define scope, objectives, and deliverables. We coordinate with internal IT and business teams across project and task execution. We apply strong problem-solving, multitasking, scheduling, and coordination skills to keep work aligned with the project plan and ensure predictability. We provide support and maintenance for existing systems within the customer solutions integrations area. We use AI tools where appropriate to improve speed and efficiency. We guide and lead other developers, including a managed-service team with offshore team members. We conduct code reviews and collaborate with peer designers and developers on project work. We use code management, defect management, and ticketing tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
