Lead Software Engineer

Salary: $154000 - 159000 per year Requirements: We require 7+ years of experience in software development within an IT organization. We require 6+ years of hands-on experience building web applications and REST APIs with Java. We require 4+ years of experience working with Azure or Google Cloud environments. We require 3+ years of experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL. We require a bachelors or masters degree in computer science or a related discipline. We require strong experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-based applications using Docker and Kubernetes. We require proven expertise in full-stack development with Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end frameworks. We require experience with web technologies such as React.js, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and Webpack. We require experience designing real-time, event-driven systems and data pipelines with Apache or Confluent Kafka. We require experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. We require experience with PostgreSQL and Java 17 or later. We require experience optimizing performance and scalability through database design, query tuning, and SQL/NoSQL database management. We require experience creating and maintaining Terraform configurations for cloud resource provisioning. We require experience with BigQuery, GCS storage buckets, and analytics dashboards using Looker and machine learning tools. We prefer knowledge of master data management in merchandising or supply chain domains. We require excellent collaboration and communication skills. We require experience working with onsite and offshore third-party vendor teams. We require deep knowledge of merchandising processes and retail supply chain principles. We require demonstrated leadership in software development and team management. We require the ability to mentor engineers, support career growth, and contribute to succession planning. We require the ability to translate architectural vision into scalable, extensible, and highly available solutions. We require the ability to research and recommend products, services, protocols, and standards in support of development and procurement efforts. We require the ability to educate teams on relevant technology changes and practical application within their domain. Responsibilities: We design changes for both new and existing applications. We develop and debug software supporting new and existing applications. We lead projects, estimate effort, and plan tasks. We mentor and coach junior team members. We support production applications on a 24x7 basis. We lead large, complex initiatives with onshore and offshore resources. We define software components for large-scale systems with minimal oversight. We oversee the overhaul of legacy applications and workflows into a configurable, scalable, and maintainable modern solution. We guide technical direction across architecture, performance, extensibility, and availability. We collaborate closely with business, development, and vendor teams. We help educate teams on new technologies and how to apply them effectively.
