Junior-Mid Test Engineer

Salary: $65000 - 91000 per year Requirements: We require 2+ years of professional software or systems testing experience, or an equivalent educational background. We need hands-on experience writing or executing automation scripts and code. We expect comfort reviewing C++ code. We require experience working with Linux-based systems. We value strong analytical skills to identify, record, and help resolve complex software issues. We need experience connecting requirements to test cases and managing test-related artifacts. We require excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to customers. We look for strong collaboration skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities with limited oversight. We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, or equivalent Navy experience. We require U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one. Responsibilities: We design, build, and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks. We create detailed test plans, test narratives, and test cases mapped directly to requirements. We perform both manual and automated testing across static, dynamic, integration, and system levels. We carry out requirements traceability using DOORS and related tools. We identify, document, and track defects while working closely with developers to support quick fixes. We review peer test documentation and provide useful, constructive feedback. We participate in Agile sprint meetings and Configuration Control Board activities. We communicate directly and professionally with government customers on a daily basis. We occasionally deliver technical presentations and testing documentation reviews. We are hiring a full-time Test Engineer to support our Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, VA. This is an on-site role, five days a week at NSWC-Dahlgren, with travel under 5%. We offer a competitive annual salary range of $70,000 to $98,000, with compensation based on experience, education, clearance, location, skills, and contract requirements.
