IT Application Developer

Salary: $97000 - 134000 per year Requirements: We need nine years of information technology experience in areas such as software architecture, analysis, design, or programming. Alternatively, we accept an associates or technical degree in computer science, or an equivalent credential, plus seven years of relevant IT experience. Alternatively, we accept a bachelors degree in computer science, or an equivalent credential, plus five years of relevant IT experience. We need at least two years of recent experience within the last four years developing applications and other software solutions. We require proficiency with ASP.NET, C#, MVC Framework, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Microsoft .NET Framework libraries version 4.0 or higher, SQL, and Transact-SQL. We need hands-on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or an equivalent IDE, and SQL Server Management Studio or an equivalent tool. Preferred experience includes agile development practices, AJAX, jQuery, Drupal or WordPress development, NHibernate or Entity Framework, Telerik Kendo UI or ASP.NET AJAX, ASP.NET Web API or XML Web Services, SSRS, and SSIS. Responsibilities: We lead architecture, analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for mission-critical applications, integrations, databases, and software customizations. We apply agile methods, creativity, and innovation to deliver assignments across division and agency-wide initiatives. We serve as a technical lead on highly complex software and application development work. We evaluate new development tools, languages, products, and approaches, and recommend solutions aligned with industry best practices. We research technologies that can improve functionality, efficiency, maintainability, and performance. We proactively monitor system performance to detect emerging problems. We collaborate with cross-functional partners to define business needs and turn them into custom software solutions. We analyze IT issues in depth and recommend solutions based on both technical and business requirements. We communicate and coordinate with technical teams, business partners, and stakeholders. We provide oversight and supervision to the software development team. We use performance management practices to build effective, respected, and high-performing teams. We mentor, coach, train, and guide staff, including through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
