About the role
Salary: $109000 - 182000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. We expect experience taking new design concepts from early exploration through development and into deployment or mass production. We require proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems. We require experience with power management and power monitoring systems. We prefer at least 5 years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure. We prefer knowledge of critical data center equipment. We prefer familiarity with engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures. We prefer knowledge of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA. We prefer experience managing projects in data centers or similar critical infrastructure environments. We prefer experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure. We prefer experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings across all disciplines. Responsibilities: We serve as the construction representative across multiple data center and capital improvement project sites from project start through handoff to operations. We work directly with general contractors through bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout stages. We define construction scope and prepare requests for proposals. We negotiate with contractors and assess bids and proposals with precision. We manage cost, schedule, and quality while coordinating contractors and vendors. We oversee project management activities such as documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, quality, scope, and schedule. We guide teams in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures. We support commissioning and integrated system testing, along with related oversight. We assist with operations of installed facilities, including procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives. We help develop capital requests. We analyze and report project progress and financial performance. We track and communicate key construction metrics to the team and leadership. We contribute to initiatives that improve construction efficiency and strengthen data center resilience. We provide constructability reviews for electrical and mechanical designs for new builds and existing site optimizations.
