Cybersecurity Engineer

Salary: $85000 - 161000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience. We require hands-on experience in cybersecurity, compliance, and Risk Management Framework (RMF). We require an active and transferable U.S. government security clearance before the start date, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory. We require familiarity with security capabilities and vulnerabilities across operating systems as defined by NSA, NIST, DISA STIGs, and USCYBERCOM. We require experience administering network and system security, including secure OS configuration and account management best practices for Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco systems. We require experience applying the NIST Risk Management Framework as outlined in NIST 800-37. We prefer experience with Program Protection Plans under DoDI 5000.2 and DoDI 5200.39. We prefer an IAT Level III certification under DoDI 8570.01-M, such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or CISA. We prefer experience supporting U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineering subject matter expert. We prefer related network and operating system certification or training, especially in Cisco and security-focused platforms. We prefer a self-directed professional who can work with limited oversight. Responsibilities: We define security requirements and develop solutions, offering direction on security technologies. We analyze security-collected data and test outcomes to support informed decisions. We prepare, update, and maintain compliance and security documentation. We establish cybersecurity requirements, architecture artifacts, strategies, plans, and policy materials. We lead or support vulnerability assessments and manage Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities. We partner with program and engineering teams to evaluate and recommend cybersecurity solution options. We conduct cybersecurity audits to confirm correct implementation and compliance of the security posture. We define and support the implementation of security controls across network devices, databases, operating systems, hardware, and software components. We work onsite in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and may participate in select in-person interview steps as part of a secure hiring process.
